Kids in need of instruments, chairs, water, and uniforms. Lost some in Katrina, but was in pretty bad shap prior. I was Band Director in New Orleans prior to Katrina, and the kids are really exicited and motivated to work. Any assistance will be highly appreciated.

I am a college student hoping to become a high school choral director/music teacher, whatever you want to call it. I don't want to just be a teacher who is only worried about getting ready for the next concert, I really want to teach my kids music education and life skills in my classes. I have also noticed that students tend to lose interest in music class, even if they love it, if they are following the exact same routine every day and nothing ever changes or is interesting to them (this is also from personal experience). I had an idea on how to make my classroom a bit more interesting, but I'm wondering what other people, particularly teachers, would think. I want to get bean bag chairs for my students. They would have their regular chairs that are good for singing, but for days when we do some different work, I would like to get bean bag chairs so they are in a more relaxed atmosphere. We would get out the bean bag chairs on days when they are doing journals (I plan on having my students write down observations about music we listen to in class or they listen to outside of class), when they have projects, or when they are doing something like watching an educational movie, having some down time the day after a concert, etc. So does anybody think this is a good idea? also, if it's a good idea, does anybody know of where one could purchase a pretty good-quality bean bag chairs the size needed for high-school kids for a reasonable price???
